Tigger My Silly Pussycat

Tigger is the kitten that is very fat,
I think he should just fall on the mat,
I think he might start doing that,
My funny little pussycat.
He’s sleeping now he always does,
Even if he hears an annoying buzz,
Tigger my silly little pussycat,
I love him so much nothing can change that.

The End

Poem

No more leaf,
no more star,
no more bird that travels far,
I journeyed past
the moon and stars
and I'll be going very far.

Locked Feelings

Singing softly to myself
Whispering when I should really shout
All my feelings locked inside
All my emotions trying to hide.

My Father Of Destiny

For fifteen years I have waited, and for fifteen years, he has neglected
to be there. I call him, my Father of Destiny.

He is always in my dreams, but when I wake up he is gone
I feel him right beside me in the dusk and open dawn
When I think about him, I always cry and moan
It can't possibly be this hard to pick up his phone
When I am eighteen, I will go and try to find him
And when I do, I'll say:
"Father, I've always loved you, but the real love starts today!"

Daddy's Girlfriend

I saw daddy with that one girl
I saw her so many times and I saw her again
I know mommy doesn't like her, but she is so nice
She always plays with me, she's so pretty and full of life
But mommy doesn't like to see her driving her convertible around
I remember last time she screamed and she said she didn't want to see her about
But I saw daddy with that one girl
And he was kissing her...I think on the lips
But it might have been on the cheeks
I don't think my mommy knows
If she knew, I'm sure she'd growl
I think that's daddy's girlfriend, the one he tells me and my sister about
But he was laughing when he said he had a girlfriend, I though he was joking around
She is really pretty and I like her too
He asked me if he could marry her, but I said no, cause I love mommy too
My sister said she heard daddy on the phone telling the girl that he loves her
And she is sure that it is the girl that daddy kissed that day, it might be her
Daddy thinks just because I'm 10, that I can't understand
But i can too, I'm not 8 like my little sister, she doesn't understand
And everyday I hear him talking on the phone with her
I always tell my mommy but she never tells him a word
I know daddy goes out to see her a lot too
Cause all the time he says he'll be right back, he takes too long
and I see her car out the door, yep...I can too
I don't think mommy knows, but maybe she just doesn't care
That my daddy is out with that girl, I think it's called an affair

If I Could Ride a Broomstick

If I could ride a broomstick
As the witches do,
I could travel the world
In a minute or two;
With the wind in my hair,
I'd hide in the clouds,
I'd do figure-eights
And wave at the crowds.

If I could ride a broomstick,
I'd head off to Mars;
It'd be a snap
To visit the stars;
I'll hold on tight
No time for good-bye,
I'll be gone
In the blink of an eye.

Tammy’s Tooth

Tammy’s tooth was feeling sad,
She had not brushed him, he was feeling bad.
Sweets and Sugar is all she ate,
Oh! How her tooth began to ache.
"Ouch", said Telly, Tammy’s tooth,
Put fluoride on me to help me sooth.

Toothpaste, brush and floss she used,
No more Telly was being abused.
Healthy, Shiny and Strong,
No decay could come along.
Telly turned from yellow to white,
Soon, Telly was standing strong and bright.

Love

Love is something you can never forget,
But if you love someone you sometimes regret,
But love is what our hearts contain,
But love is not the only name.

Fishing in the Cornfield

We never had a pond,
There wasn't the space,
With house, barn,
Field and farmplace;
We needed a home
For the pigs and cattle;
There was hardly room
For a baby's rattle.

There was a brook
Back in the woods;
It ran along the cornfield
Where a tall pine stood;
It sparkled and popped
And sang as it ran;
It carried water
Throughout the land.

One afternoon, the clouds turned black
And lightning flashed;
I ran to the house
In a frenzied, mad dash;
The rain fell in semis,
Not buckets, cats, or dogs;
Everybody ran for cover,
Even the frogs.

The house was still standing,
For heaven's sake,
But the cornfield
Had become a lake;
I'd have to swim
To go get the mail;
I'd need a boat
Because the car wouldn't sail!

I waded in the tide,
It was up to my waist;
The air suddenly had
A salt water taste;
I heard a noise
That sounded like a thump;
To my surprise,
A barracuda jumped.

There was a school of catfish
At my feet,
And dolphins sailed
In a mighty fleet;
I rode on a swordfish
And nobody got in my way;
No shark or jellyfish
Had anything to say.

With a stringer in my pocket,
I caught my fill
Of bass, crappies, and sunfish
Right up to the gills;
That quiet, little brook
Had exploded its seams,
And that torrential rain
Was a fisherman's dream.

I never imagined
That a cornfield could be
Anymore than a cornfield
Should be;
We had a bumper crop,
And a mighty big catch,
The day the barracuda jumped
In the cornfield patch.

Limerick

There once was a man from Green Bay
Who lived on a diet of hay
He said they
Were stale
Cause he got them wholesale
And said he preferred them that way

My Dad And Me

Deeper than the ocean
Higher than a tree
Stronger than the moon above
But so far away I'll never see
Something so special
Something so close to me
Ill never forget the days I had
Just my dad and me

Under The Cross

Harm was not visible
To the soldier under the cross
Crying out for help
No one listened
One more life was lost
Helplessly screaming
Till death do him part
The wound so big
That was lost was his heart

What To Do

Through the forest
And over the bridge
Sat an old man
Who liked little kids
With sweets in his hand
And a little charming bow
She just could not resist
Her mother's answer no
Now she is just
Three blocks from here
Dead in a coffin
In shock and in fear
If only she listened
If only she knew
If only she was taught
Exactly what to do

- Alyssa, age 12

Limerick

There once was a man named Pop
Who came to a sign that said STOP!
He ignored the sign
At a quarter to nine,
And then he was caught by a cop.

The Teacher Ate My Homework

The teacher ate my homework,
She grabbed it from my seat.
Now, my dog is hungry, but
There's nothing left to eat!

If I Had

If I had a motor scooter
I'd take you for a spin
Twice around the block we'd go
And then we'd go again

If I had an aeroplane
I'd take you way up high
We would do loop de loops
Until I made you cry

Back to earth we'd go my friend
I would look at you
And you at me
And you would say
Can we do it again?
