Dancing in the Waves

The Day I Lost My Cookies

I like chocolate chip cookies.
I like chocolate chip cake.
One day I ate a whole box of cookies
and I got a tummy ache.

I started feeling sick.
My tummy really hurt.
I thought that I would puke
but I only had to burp.

I started feeling more sick.
I didn't know what to do.
My cheeks started to expand
and I puked in Dad's shoe.

The next morning I awoke
to hear my dad scream.
He put his foot in the messy shoe
and said that I was mean.

I thought it was so funny
I laughed so hard I cried.
I stopped with a gulp
when he said he'd have my hide.

The Snowflake Lair

When snowflakes fall to the floor
There appears a gate or a magical door.
And there will appear
Right now and right here
The Queen
And it will make you feel keen.
As her toes begin to fly
As you almost begin to cry.
And the trees begin to sing
As the bells begin to ring.

With the ride of her horse
She will go to her lair of course,
And there will wait her prince
They've been lovers ever since.

Then the snow will dance
As your heart will prance.
I can't even begin to explain
Their dance was not at all plain
As they would fly
Into the sky.

With the help of men snowflakes
With hearts sweet as chocolate cupcakes
They'd be tossed into the air
Into their snowflake lair.

So if you ever go there
Into the Queen's lair
When the snow falls to the floor
There appears a gate or a magical door.

The Day You Left Me

I can't begin to tell you,
how much I'm going to miss,
the time we spent together,
in heartfelt happiness.

Walking on the clouds,
talking with the sun,
never looking down,
or making fun of anyone

You always looked at me,
seeing what's inside,
washing with wind,
'till there's no more hurt to find.

Now you're going to leave,
but the memories will last,
and I'll see you in my dreams,
when I find time hard to pass.

I know we've not been friends for long,
and we don't spend a lot of time together,
but I need someone just like you,
to be my friend forever.

Even though we've only known each other,
for a couple years,
I've learned a lot from you,
and now I haven't anything to fear.

You've kept my life exciting,
and very, very fun,
and I'm happy that we met,
because you fill my world with sun.

You helped me with my problems,
and listened while I rambled on,
I'll always remember what you've done for me,
even if you're gone.

And if I could pull down just one star,
I'd make a wish for you,
I'd wish for your happiness,
and that all your dreams would come true.

I don't need to wish for myself anymore,
'cause you're the best as friends get,
plus, my wish already came true,
it happened the day that we met.

Millionaire Under The Sea

If I am a millionaire,
I would go down to the sea.
To explore and to play,
And to have a cup of tea.

If I see a shark,
A story I would tell.
Then give him money,
To throw down the wishing well.

If I see a dolphin,
I'll give her one dollar or two.
To give me a dolphin back ride,
For me to explore though the ocean blue.

The Night Sky

The night sky is so bright,
It shines with it's moon and stars.
People walk with pleasure in it's glow,
People talk about it in it's presence.
The moon shines, the stars twinkle.
The sky is very beautiful
It is so precious to me.

Friends Throughout Eternity

I am so blessed to have a friend like you,
No one has ever touched my life exactly like you do,
You are someone who I can always rely on and talk to,
Whenever I am down or blue,
You are always there to see me through,
And in turn I do the same for you,
The times we share are to special to forget,
That they end so quickly is my only regret,
But forever friends you will see,
Share a bond strong enough to last throughout all eternity,
Like the bond between you and me.

Dreams

dreaming dark
dreaming endless
dreaming sweet
dreaming painless

silky, seductive
silver and abductive
falling,catching
webs of magic
realm of mind
dreams kill
all thoughts but those tragic
thousand hours wasted
lost in dreams
caught out of reality
wander around for infinity

oh the woes
oh the cries
of all those souls
condemmed to die
within the confines
within the cells
of that which they ultimately
fell

dreams are dark
dreams are endless
dreams are sweet
dreams are dangerous
but oh so real

My Granddad

My Granddad's very special
I love him lots and lots
He plays his accordion nicely
He's the finest of the Scots

My Nanny's very pretty
She cooks some lovely food
Her food is very tasty
It puts me in the mood

Granddad likes to play in the water
Splashing from head to toe
He also splashes my brothers and me
But he's my special beau

My Nanny knits such nice things
they have such style and flair
She's also teaching me to knit
Something nice to wear

Feelings

How do I tell the feelings inside
I try to protect the people I love
So those feelings I hide
In the life that I live I hope to learn to let all I love linger away
So I can tell you those feelings I feel today

Football

Kick a football in a goal
It comes down from in your soul
Be very clever quick and fast
Run down the pitch and don't be last
Think of how the others will cheer
Be very quick or the pitch might clear
You want to get up to the top
Don't break a foot or you'll have to hop
Don't let the crowd down
By not winning the number one crown
The shout for their favourite team
They think 'wow' to the sight they've seen
Listen to them stamp their feet
Jumping up in your seat
They keep it right in the beat
As they go chanting down the street
I love football, I'm football mad
I can play it, I'm not bad

Sunsets in the sky
Lighting up the horizon
Another day gone

Carolyn

Carolyn was just a child
Young and innocent
Meek and mild

But angels came to her one day
They came to her to take her soul away

Now she rests in the skies above
And angels surround her
And give her their love

Lemonade

Nobody paid me any money.
The people are buying other stuff like honey.
Someone has already bought the new, clear pool.
Maybe they are not buying it cause today is cool.
Someone bought a book about a maid.
They want to buy that - but not my lemonade.
Some people bought a black and white fence.
They don't want to buy it - even though it's 5 cents.
They bought the choo-choo train that came with a rail.
They bought pots and pans and a old rusty nail.

Read a book
(For Cassie)

Read a book of tin,
get so attached you jump on in.
Be the hero, save the day,
be the princess on a beautiful day.
Mother's calling, jump back into reality,
there's no princess, no hero; just lil' ol' me.

Lost

I am going to a cabin, lots of miles to go.
I'll stop by to get a glass of cocoa.
I'll get my horse and then we will go
to the nice old cabin, that’s covered with snow.
I stopped by a tree to cut down wood
and I’ll bring it home just like I should.
It was about to be night,
then I accidentally told my horse to go left - not right.
An hour later in the middle of nowhere,
I was very cold and very bare.
I opened the bushes and saw a land,
but someone touched me and grabbed my hand.
"What are you doing? Glad I could drop by.
Do you want some food, including pie?"
"Yeah, sure - just what I need"
Now I will go home and start to read
What’s this - my house - my Mom - my home?
Now I will go inside and have some cocoa.

Locked Doors

My eyes want to look far into the distance,
Beyond all realms, and boundaries.
Beyond the unknown, beyond doors...
Doors, which hold me back
From Freedom.

Between me and eternal joy,
They stand. Cruel and unconquerable.
With spiteful malice they tower above me.
I clench my teeth and shake hard,
Although I know the doors will not give way.

The secret to happiness is locked,
Fortified with chains of ill fate.

I can fly...behind those doors,
Where the clouds will brush against my hair.
Where the grass is a carpet of love,
Where the birds sing of peace.
Where there is no line between Life
And Death - because there is no death.

My life now is just a quest for the key,
I have faith in God's help,
But most of the work is mine.
Grief and anxiety cannot stop me anymore,
From going beyond that stronghold...
Opening the doors and stepping into
Eternal Bliss.

A Single Rose Petal

A red rose
A setting sun
A girl on a hillside
Holding a gun

She had been hurt
By the one she loved
Soon her spirit would fly
Free as a dove

She took her own life
With a bullet of metal
And blowing in the wind
Was a single rose petal

- Emily Russell, age 13

Flower Petals of the Wind

The flower settled into the ground
Nuzzling close to the bed it found

Suddenly the wind shook up
And blew the flower's petals into a leafy cup

The flower sighed with no cheer
Knowing death would soon be near

Just then the sun awoke
from it's darkened grave
And with a sparkly look
gave the flower a gaze

The nighly breeze blew just once more
Restoring the petals
to where they had been before

The Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Weeny Blue Pickapoos

In a far away place in a far away land;
There was the island of Pickapoo where nothing was bland.
On this island lived many Pickapoo people,
But these were not normal people, oh no, they were itsy bitsy, teeny weeny blue Pickapoos.
On Pickapoo Island once a year grew a single giant Pickapoo berry.
What made this single giant Pickapoo berry special, was that it was
grown by a Pickapoo fairy.
The Pickapoo people feasted on this berry all year long.
They made Pickapoo jams, and Pickapoo jellies, and Pickapoo breads to name a few.

One year the Pickapoo fairy told the little blue Pickapoos some very very bad news.
"I am going to live on the island of the giant Kazews."
The Pickapoo people were very suprised indeed.
"Now how are we going to grow the Pickapoo berry?" they cried in dismay.

"All you have to do," the fairy replied, "is get the water from the
stream at the bottom of Pickapoo Mountain.
"Do not, however, use the water from the Pickapoo Fountain."
The water from the Pickapoo Fountain is very bad for the Pickapoo berry.
The little blue Pickapoos wouldn't dare disobey the fairy so they
started their long walk to the stream.

They retrieved the water and made sure the seed got plenty of food.
Then the Pickapoos went to bed for a nice long snooze.
The Pickapoos did not sleep long for the ground began to tremble and
shake.
The seed had begun to grow, and slowly but surely out popped a single giant Pickapoo berry!

The Pickapoo people were excited as can be for they had grown the Pickapoo
berry without the help of the Pickapoo fairy!
The itsy bitsy, teeny weeny blue Pickapoo people held a massive
carnival to celebrate their very very large berry.
In fact they even invited their friend the fairy.
